One in six neighbors in the Tri-State area is at risk of hunger. That’s nearly 300,000 people, 100,000 of which who are children.
“I know, firsthand, how it feels to need help, to not have money or a full stomach,” said 2016 Taste of the NFL Host Rey Maualuga. “There were times that I would go for days with only eating once. Our family received help at one time. Now, things have come full circle and I am able to use my platform to help hungry families served by the Freestore Foodbank. “
Taste of the NFL is one of the Freestore Foodbank’s signature fundraising events. Tickets are on sale for $175 and can be purchased online or by calling (513) 482-7539.
“The cost of one admission will help the Freestore Foodbank provide 525 meals to hungry children and families in our Tri-State area,” said Kurt Reiber, President and CEO of the Freestore Foodbank. “This is a great opportunity for Bengals fans to mix and mingle with players and coaches, all while giving back to our community.”
“The Taste of the NFL is a great opportunity for our fans to come out and support the efforts of the Freestore Foodbank,” said Bengals Coach Marvin Lewis. “It’s a chance for the fans to see the players. They don’t have on helmets or jerseys – it’s a chance to see them as people. It’s a great event and all of the money raised goes to a great cause.”
Since its inception in 2003, the popular Taste of the NFL fundraiser has raised the equivalent of more than three million meals for the Freestore Foodbank’s efforts.
